The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some customers may comment of a pop or creak noise from the removable roof equipped with new, non roller type roof latches. This may be the result of a contact issue at the latch plates or the rear guide pins. This will only affect vehicles built on or after August 1st, 2008.

To correct this concern, lubricate with latch plates on the header and the rear guide pins with GM Super Lube or 3M Clear Silicone Paste or equivalent. This will only affect vehicles built after August 1st, 2008.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
