Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  2. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  3. Remove the window garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Upper Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
  4. Remove the upper trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  5. Remove the instrument cluster bezel. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
  6. Remove the center trim bezel. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Bezel Replacement .
  7. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
  8. Remove the BCM module from the I/P. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Computer/Integrating Systems.
  9. Remove the I/P outer trim covers. Refer to Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side and to Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  10. Remove the I/P compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement .
  11. Remove the steering column filler. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement .
  12. Remove the right side I/P trim panel. Refer to Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side .

  14. Remove the panel which contains the power mirror switch and the dimmer switch.
  15. Remove the inflatable restraint I/P module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement in SIR.
  16. Remove the left and the right carpet retainers. Refer to Front Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.

  17. Object Number: 1350099  Size: SH
  18. Remove the screws and the bolts which hold the I/P retainer to the cross beam.

  19. Object Number: 1347080  Size: SH
  20. Remove the I/P retainer from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1347080  Size: SH
  1. Align the I/P retainer to the cross beam.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1350099  Size: SH
  3. Install the screws and the bolts which hold the I/P retainer to the cross beam. Begin at the center and work toward each side.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the left and the right carpet retainers. Refer to Front Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.
  6. Install the inflatable restraint I/P module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement in SIR.

  8. Install the panel which contains the power mirror switch and the dimmer switch.
  9. Install the right side I/P trim panel. Refer to Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side .
  10. Install the steering column filler. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement .
  11. Install the I/P compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement .
  12. Install the I/P outer trim covers. Refer to Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side and to Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  13. Install the BCM module from the I/P. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Computer/Integrating Systems.
  14. Install the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
  15. Install the center trim bezel. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Bezel Replacement .
  16. Install the instrument cluster bezel. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
  17. Install the upper trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  18. Install the window garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Upper Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
  19. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  20. Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  21. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
