  1. Disconnect the connector at the multi-function alarm module.
  2. Disconnect the connector at the seat belt switch.
  3. Disconnect the connector at the inflatable restraint control module.
  4. Connect a J 39200 DMM between the multifunction alarm module connector, cavity A2 for CKT 238 (BLK/WHT), and ground.

Is continuity present?

Repair the short to ground between the following components:

    • The multi-function alarm module
    • The inflatable restraint control module
    • The seat belt switch

Is the fasten seat chime audible when the seat belt is fastened?

Go to Step 4

  1. Fasten the driver's side safety belt.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM between pigtail A and pigtail B of the seat belt switch.

Is continuity present?

Go to Step 5

Replace the seat belt switch.

Is the fasten seat chime audible when the seat belt is fastened?

Replace the multi-function alarm module. Refer to Multifunction Alarm Module Replacement .
