Child Restraint Tether Anchor Replacement All Except Luxury

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 549408  Size: SH
  1. Reach over the back of the bench seat and remove the child seat top tether from the top tether anchor (1).
  2. Remove the child seat.
  3. Remove the respective belt buckle bolt from the frame weld nut. Refer to Rear Seat Belt Buckle Replacement .
  4. Remove the buckles.

  6. Inspect the anchors, pivot points, belts, and buckles for damage, and replace if necessary

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 549408  Size: SH
  1. Install the seat belt buckles for the child seat, positioning the anchor to the rear of the seat to extend beyond the seat and the cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Belt Buckle Replacement .
  2. Install the child seat.
  3. Fasten the child seat top tether to the top tether anchor (1).

Removal Procedure

  1. Inspect the seat belt tether spacer bar hook (1) for damage, if damaged replace the bucket seat riser spacer bar. Refer to Rear Seat Riser Replacement in Seats.

  2. Object Number: 533243  Size: SH
  3. The front bucket seat passenger side tether belt (2) runs down the center of seatback and hooks to the seat belt tether spacer bar (4) located in the center of the seat riser.

  4. Object Number: 533270  Size: SH
  5. For the bench seats, the seat belt tether belt must run under the headrest and hook into the seat belt tether anchor which is located behind the seatback and integrated into the center seat belt. If the seat belt tether anchor or seat belt are damaged the rear center seat belts must be replaced. Refer to Rear Seat Belt Buckle Replacement .

Installation Procedure

  1. For the bench seats, the seat belt tether belt must run under the headrest and hook into the seat belt tether anchor which is located behind the seatback and integrated into the center seat belt. If the seat belt tether anchor or seat belt are damaged the rear center seat belts must be replaced. Refer to Rear Seat Belt Buckle Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 533243  Size: SH
  3. The front bucket seat passenger side tether belt (2) runs down the center of seatback and hooks to the seat belt tether spacer bar (4) located in the center of the seat riser support bar.
