Removal Procedure
Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
Remove the coolant reservoir. Refer to
Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement
.
Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from A/C low pressure sensor (1).
Remove the evaporator outlet pipe retaining nut (3) from the accumulator.
Remove the compressor suction hose retaining nut (1).
Remove the compressor suction hose from the accumulator.
Remove the retaining screw (4) from the accumulator retaining bracket (2).
Remove the accumulator (1).
Remove the sealing washers.
Installation Procedure
If replacing the accumulator, add the specified amount of PAG oil directly into the accumulator. Refer to
Refrigerant System Capacities
.
Install the accumulator (1).
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
in the Preface section.
Install the screw (4) to the accumulator retaining bracket (2) and tighten to
9 N·m (80 lb in)
.
Connect the low pressure sensor electrical connector (1).
Install new sealing washers. Refer to
Sealing Washer Replacement
.
Install the evaporator outlet pipe.
Install the evaporator outlet pipe retaining nut (1) to the accumulator and tighten to
16 N·m (12 lb ft)
.
Install the compressor suction hose.
Install the compressor suction hose retaining nut (2) to the accumulator and tighten to
16 N·m (12 lb ft)
.
Install the coolant reservoir. Refer to
Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement
.
Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
Leak test the fittings of the component using the
J 39400-A
.
