Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the left instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Uncap the BCM and position aside.
  3. Remove the stoplamp switch. Refer to Stop Lamp Switch Replacement .
  4. Remove the cruise release switch (if equipped). Refer to Cruise Control Release Switch Replacement in Cruise Control.
  5. Remove the wiring harness clips

  7. Remove the brake pedal pushrod retaining clip.
  8. Remove the brake pedal pushrod and washer.
  9. Inspect all parts for evidence of wear. Repair or replace the worn parts as needed.

  10. Object Number: 630032  Size: SH
  11. Remove the brake pedal bolt and nut.
  12. Remove the brake pedal and bushings.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the brake pedal and the bushings.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the brake pedal bolt and nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  5. Install the brake pedal washer and pushrod.
  6. Install the brake pedal pushrod retaining clip.
  7. Install the wiring harness clips
  8. Install the cruise release switch (if equipped). Refer to Cruise Control Release Switch Replacement in Cruise Control.
  9. Install the stoplamp switch. Refer to Stop Lamp Switch Replacement .
  10. Position and clip the BCM back into place.
  11. Install the left instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
