Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side Upper Monte Carlo

1. Remove the access cover from the right instrument panel (IP) fuse block.
2. Remove the screw from the right end of the right upper IP trim plate.



3. Adjust the IP cluster trim plate bezel in order to remove the screw from the left end of the right upper trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement .
4. Remove the right lower IP trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side .



5. Remove the screw from the lower right end of the right upper IP trim plate.



6. Remove the right upper IP trim plate starting at the upper right and center of the trim plate. Pull rearward and work to the left in order to release the retainers from the instrument panel.

1. Position the right upper IP trim plate retainers to the slots in the instrument panel.
2. Install the right upper IP trim plate into the instrument panel. Press the trim plate into place until fully seated.




Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

3. Install the screw to the right end of the right upper IP trim plate.

Tighten
Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).




4. Install the screw to the left end of the right upper IP trim plate.

Tighten
Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).




5. Install the screw to the lower right end of the right upper IP trim plate.

Tighten
Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

6. Install the lower right IP trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side .
7. Install access cover to the the right IP fuse block.
8. Install the IP cluster trim plate bezel. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement .

Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side Lower Monte Carlo

1. Open the instrument panel (IP) compartment door.
2. Starting at the top of the right lower IP trim plate, pull the trim panel rearward in order to release the top retainer.
3. Pull the right lower IP trim plate in the middle rearward in order to release the middle retainer.
4. Pull the bottom of the right lower IP trim plate straight out in order to release the final retainer.



5. Remove the right lower IP trim plate from the instrument panel.

1. Position the right lower IP trim plate retainers to the slots in the instrument panel.



2. Install the right lower IP trim plate starting at the bottom. Press the panel straight in and work upward, pressing in the retainers until fully seated.
3. Close the IP compartment door.
