Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1618020 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Open the tailgate.
  3. Remove the rear window wiper motor assembly. Refer to Rear Window Wiper Motor Replacement .
  4. Disconnect the tailgate lock rod (3).
  5. Remove the nuts from the tailgate lock cylinder (2).
  6. Remove the tailgate lock cylinder (1).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1618020 Size: SH
  1. Install the tailgate lock cylinder (1).

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the nuts to the tailgate lock cylinder (2).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the tailgate lock cylinder nuts (2) to 5 N·m (44 in lb).

  3. Connect the tailgate lock rod (3).
  4. Install the rear window wiper motor assembly. Refer to Rear Window Wiper Motor Replacement .
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
