Throttle Body Assembly Replacement Repair

1. Drain the radiator coolant.
2. Remove the air intake tube.
3. Remove the IAC valve, and TP sensor, electrical connectors.
4. Remove the accelerator control and cruise control cables.
5. Remove the accelerator control cable bracket.
6. Remove the nuts and bolts holding the throttle body to the intake manifold.
7. Remove the throttle body assembly.

Notice: Do not use solvent of any type when cleaning the gasket surfaces on the intake manifold and the throttle body assembly, as damage to the gasket surfaces and throttle body assembly may result.

1. Install a new gasket, if necessary.
2. Install the throttle body assembly.
3. Install the throttle body retaining nuts and bolts (3).

Tighten
Tighten the throttle body retaining nuts and bolts to 10 N·m(7  lb. ft.).

4. Install the IAC valve, TP sensor, MAF sensor, and ECT sensor electrical connectors.
5. Install the accelerator control and cruise control cables.
6. Inspect for complete throttle opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator pedal. Also check for poor carpet fit under the accelerator pedal. The throttle should operate freely without binding between full closed and wide open throttle. Refer to the Accelerator Controls portion of this section, for additional information on accelerator controls.
7. Install the accelerator control cable bracket.
8. Install the air intake tube.
9. Refill the radiator to replace the lost coolant.

Throttle Body Assembly Replacement Adapter Tube

1. Drain coolant. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.
2. Remove the EGR valve bracket nuts.
3. Remove the EGR valve bracket.
4. Remove the EGR bolts.
5. Remove the EGR valve and gasket.
6. Remove the EGR adapter pipe and gasket.
7. Remove the MAP sensor electrical connector.
8. Remove the vacuum lines noting the routing.



9. Remove the throttle body. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement .



10. Remove the throttle body adapter bolts and nuts.
11. Remove the throttle body adapter and gaskets.
12. Remove the throttle body adapter pipe.

1. Install the throttle body adapter pipe.
2. Install the throttle body adapter with a new gaskets.
3. Install the throttle body adapter bolts and nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the throttle body adapter to 25 N·m (18  lb. ft.)

4. Install the vacuum lines as noted on disassembly.
5. Install the MAP sensor electrical connector.



6. Install the throttle body. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement .



7. Install the EGR adapter pipe with a new gasket.
8. Install the EGR valve with a new gasket.
9. Install the EGR bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the EGR bolts to 25 N·m (18  lb. ft.)

10. Install The EGR valve bracket.
11. Install The EGR valve bracket nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the EGR valve bracket to 25 N·m (18  lb. ft.)

12. Refill coolant. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.
