Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to General Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.
  2. Support the vehicle on a suitable stand.
  3. Remove the pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 99868  Size: SH
  5. Remove the filter.

  6. Object Number: 99892  Size: SH
  7. Remove the accumulator attaching bolts.
  8. Remove the accumulator.
  9. Remove the 2-1 manual servo piston.

  10. Object Number: 99895  Size: SH
  11. Remove the filter.
  12. Remove the seal.
  13. Disassemble and inspect the accumulator and 2-1 manual servo. Refer to Accumulator Assembly, 2-1 Band Servo Disassemble .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the seal.

  2. Object Number: 99895  Size: SH
  3. Install the filter.

  4. Object Number: 99892  Size: SH
  5. Install the 2-1 manual servo piston.
  6. Install the accumulator.
  7. Install the attaching bolts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts and the screws to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  9. Install the filter seal, if removed.
  10. Install the pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Adjust the fluid level.
