Removal Procedure
Tools Required:

Adapter Leg
- Install J 28467-360
, J 28467-90
, and J 36462

- Raise the vehicle. Refer to General Vehicle Lifting and Jacking
in General Information.
- Support the vehicle on a suitable stand.
- Remove the power steering rack.
- Remove the pinion heat shield.
- Remove the power steering rack and pinion.
- Hang the rack and pinion from the exhaust pipe flange. Refer to
Power Rack and Pinion in Power Steering Gear and Pump.
- Remove the transmission mount. Refer to
Transmission Mount Replacement

- Remove the engine mount.
- Support the frame rear with a jackstand.
- Refer to Frame in Body Dimensions, Frame and Underbody in order
to loosen the following components:
11.1. | The front frame bolts |
11.2. | The rear frame bolts |
- Lower the frame from the jackstand.
- Remove the power steering line from the right of the frame. Refer
to Power Steering Hose and Pipe in Power Steering Gear and Pump.
- Position the drain pan under the servo cover.
- Remove the bolts attaching the servo cover
to the transmission case.
- Remove the servo cover.
- Remove the servo piston.
- Remove the sealing ring.
- Remove the apply pin
- Remove the servo spring retainer.
- Remove the servo spring.
Installation Procedure
Tools Required:

Adapter Leg
- Install the servo spring.
- Install the servo spring retainer.
- Install the apply pin.
- Install the sealing ring.
- Install the servo piston.
- Install the servo cover.
- Install the servo cover attaching the following components:
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Information.- Install the power steering line to the right of the frame. Refer
to Power Steering Hose and Pipe in Power Steering Gear and Pump.
- Raise the frame using a jackstand.
- Refer to Frame in Body Dimensions, Frame and Underbody in order
to install the frame bolts.
- Remove the support from the frame rear.
- Install the engine mount.
- Install the transaxle mount. Refer to
Transmission Mount Replacement
.
- Install the power steering rack and pinion. Refer to Power Rack
and Pinion in Power Steering Gear and Pump.
- Install the power steering rack and pinion heat shield.
- Lower the vehicle.
