1. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
2. Remove the thermo element retainer.



3. Remove the element.

Tools Required

1. J 34094-A Thermo Element Height Gauge

1. Set the thermo pin height with the J 34094-A .



2. Install the new element plate.
3. Use a J 34094-A in order to set the pin height furthest from the accumulator.
4. Install the washer.
5. Install the thermo element.
6. Install the oil pan.

Refer to Oil Pan Replacement in order to install the following components:

6.1.	A new gasket

6.2.	The attaching bolts

7. Adjust the fluid level.
