A restricted or bent actuator rod

Replace the actuator rod.

There are burrs on any of the following components:

Inspect and service the components as necessary.

A distorted coupling slot in the rack

Clean, inspect and replace the components as necessary.

A misaligned housing to cover

Inspect the component. Service the components as necessary.

A bent ignition switch mounting bracket

Inspect the components. Replace the components as necessary.

A improperly adjusted shift linkage

Inspect the components. Replace the components as necessary.

A bent or deformed rack preload spring

Replace the components as necessary.

A bent steering shaft

Replace the components as necessary.
