Disconnect the instrument panel lamp switch electrical connector.

Is the instrument panel compartment lamp off?

Go to Step 4

  1. Inspect the instrument panel lamp switch contact with the instrument panel compartment.
  2. Repair as necessary.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 6

Replace the instrument panel lamp switch.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the short to ground in circuit 175.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 6

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Reconnect any connectors that you previously disconnected.
  3. Install any components that you previously removed.
