Inspect the rear compartment lamp bulb filament.

Is the rear compartment lamp bulb filament open?

Go to Step 7

Inspect fuse 19 in the fuse block.

Is fuse 19 open?

Go to Step 7

  1. Remove the rear compartment lamp bulb from the socket.
  2. Using a test lamp probe between the rear compartment lamp bulb terminal A and the ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Using a test lamp probe between the rear compartment lamp bulb socket terminals B and terminal A.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 5

Using a test lamp backprobe between B+ and the rear compartment lid ajar switch terminal B.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 11

  1. Reconnect the rear compartment lamp bulb into the socket.
  2. Connect a 10A fused jumper between the rear compartment lid ajar switch terminals A and B.

Does the rear compartment light illuminate?

Go to Step 12

Replace the rear compartment lamp bulb.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 14

Repair the short to ground in circuit 1140.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the poor connection or open in circuit 1140.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Inspect the following components for poor connection:
  2. • The rear compartment lamp connector
    • The socket
  3. Repair as needed.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the poor connection or open in circuit 350.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Inspect the rear compartment lid ajar switch for proper operation.
  2. Repair or replace as needed.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the poor connection or open in circuit 744.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Reconnect any connectors that you previously disconnected.
  3. Install any components that you previously removed.
