Inspect fuse 39 in the fuse block.

Is fuse 39 open?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Disconnect the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm electrical connector.
  3. Using a test lamp, probe between the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm harness connector terminal D2 and ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

  1. Replace fuse 39.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Inspect fuse 39.

Is fuse 39 open?

--

Go to Step 6

  1. Inspect the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm connector terminal D2 for poor terminal contact.
  2. If the connector is OK, replace the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm.
  3. Refer to Multifunction Alarm Module Replacement

Repair a poor connection or an open in CKT 39.

Repair a short to ground in CKT 39.

  1. Ensure that the ignition is in the LOCK position.
  2. Reconnect the connectors and reinstall the components that were removed.
