Inspect the park lamps fuse in the engine wiring harness junction block 2.

Is the park lamps fuse open?

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Disconnect the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm electrical connector.
  3. Using a test lamp, probe between the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps harness connector terminal A1 and ground.
  4. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK or HEAD position while observing the test lamp.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

  1. Replace the park lamps fuse.
  2. Turn the headlamp switch to the park position or the head position.
  3. Inspect the park lamps fuse again.

Is the park lamps fuse open again?

--

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 7

Repair a short to ground in CKT 1340 or CKT 308.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 7

  1. Inspect the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm connector for poor terminal contact.
  2. If the connector is OK, replace the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm. Refer to Multifunction Alarm Module Replacement .

  1. Using a test lamp, probe the headlamps switch terminal I and ground.
  2. Turn the headlamp switch to HEAD or PARK.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 8

  1. Ensure that the ignition switch is in the LOCK position.
  2. Reconnect the connectors and reinstall the components that were removed.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Audible Warnings System Check

Repair a poor connection or an open in CKT 308.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the headlamp switch.
