J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:

•	Air bag deployment

•	Personal injury

•	Unnecessary SIR system repairs

In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:

•	Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.

•	If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.

1. Remove the front sidemarker lamps. Refer to Side Marker Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
2. Remove the lower air deflector. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors in Engine Cooling.
3. Remove the bolts from the front bumper fascia to the fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
4. Remove the lower support from the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Lower Support Replacement .



5. Remove the upper retainers (3) from the headlamp brackets.
6. Use the J 38778 in order to remove the lower push-in retainers which fasten the front bumper fascia to the bumper.
7. Remove the nuts from the front bumper fascia reinforcement. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Reinforcement Replacement .
8. Remove the front bumper fascia from the vehicle.

1. Connect the front bumper fascia to the front energy absorber and impact bar.
2. Install the nuts to the front bumper fascia reinforcement. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Reinforcement Replacement
3. Install the lower push-in retainers which fasten the front bumper fascia to the bumper bar.
4. Install the upper push-in retainers (3) to the headlamp brackets.
5. Install the lower support to the front bumper fascia. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors in Engine Cooling.
6. Install the bolts which connect the front bumper fascia to the fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
7. Install the lower air deflector. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors in Engine Cooling.
8. Install the front sidemarker lamps. Refer to Side Marker Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
