J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

1. Remove the armrest pull cup. Refer to Armrest Pull Cup Replacement .
2. Remove the inside handle bezel. Refer to Door Inside Handle Bezel Replacement .
3. Remove the window regulator handle, if equipped. Refer to Door Window Regulator Handle Replacement .



4. Remove the trim panel screws.
5. Remove the trim panel (2) by carefully lifting the top upwards to release the tabs and hooks from the door inner panel. UseJ 38778 in order to pull the trim panel away from the door.

1. Position the trim panel tabs and hooks to the slots in the door inner metal.

Important: Be sure to apply enough pressure to fully engage the three top tabs to the door inner panel.

2. Install the trim panel (2) by pressing down on top of the trim panel.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

3. Install the inner trim panel screws.

Tighten
Tighten the inner trim panel screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

4. Install the window regulator handle, if equipped. Refer to Door Window Regulator Handle Replacement .
5. Install the inside handle bezel. Refer to Door Inside Handle Bezel Replacement .
6. Install the armrest pull cup. Refer to Armrest Pull Cup Replacement .
