  1. Connect a test lamp.
  2. Backprobe between the driver seat adjuster motor assembly connector C1 terminal A and ground.
  3. Set and hold the rear height seat adjuster switch to the UP position.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Connect a test lamp.
  2. Backprobe between the driver seat adjuster motor assembly connector C1 terminal B and ground.
  3. Set and hold the rear height seat adjuster switch to the DOWN position.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Connect a digital multimeter (DMM).
  2. Inspect for a poor connection or open in CKT 282 between the driver seat adjuster switch terminal A and the driver seat adjuster motor assembly connector C1 terminal A.

Is there a poor connection or open in CKT 282?

Go to Step 4

  1. Repair the poor connection or open in CKT 282.
  2. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

  1. Replace the driver seat adjuster switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .
  2. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

  1. Connect a test lamp.
  2. Backprobe between the driver seat adjuster motor assembly connector C1 terminals A and B.
  3. Set and hold the rear height seat adjuster switch momentarily to the DOWN position and then to the UP position.

Does the test lamp illuminate in both directions?

  1. Connect a DMM.
  2. Inspect for a poor connection or open in CKT 283 between the driver seat adjuster switch terminal B and the driver seat adjuster motor assembly connector C1 terminal B.

Is there a poor connection or open in CKT 283?

--

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 5

  1. Repair the poor connection or open in CKT 283.
  2. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

  1. Connect a DMM.
  2. Inspect for a poor connection in the driver seat adjuster motor assembly connector C1 terminals A or B.

Is there a poor connection or open at either terminal A or B?

--

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 11

  1. Repair the poor connection or open at either terminal A or B.
  2. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

  1. Replace the driver seat adjuster motor assembly. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Motor Replacement .
  2. Inspect the system.
