  2. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe between the rear compartment lid release switch connector terminal A CKT 275 and ground.

  1. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe between the rear compartment lid release switch connector terminal B CKT 56 and ground.
  2. Press the rear compartment lid release switch and observe the test light.

Does the test light illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the transaxle range switch connector C1.
  2. Probe the transaxle range switch connector C1 between the CKT 840 and ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

Repair the open in CKT 840.

Determine if the vehicle is equipped with keyless entry equipment.

Replace the rear compartment lid release switch. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Switch Replacement for service procedure.

  1. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe between the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) CKT 382 terminal G and ground.
  2. Press the rear compartment lid release switch and observe the test light.

Does the test light illuminate?

  1. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe between the rear compartment lid lock release solenoid connector terminal A CKT 56 and ground.
  2. Press the rear compartment lid release switch and observe the test light.

  1. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe between the RCDLR CKT 56 terminal H and ground.
  2. Press the rear compartment lid release switch and observe the test light.

Repair the poor connection or the open in CKT 275 between the transaxle range switch connector C1 and the rear compartment lid release switch.

Adjust or replace the transaxle range switch. Refer to Park/Neutral Position Switch Replacement and Park/Neutral Position Switch Adjustment in Automatic Transaxle 4T60 for service procedure.

Use a test lamp in order to backprobe between the rear compartment lid lock release solenoid terminals A and B.

  1. Repair the poor connection or the open in CKT 56 or CKT 382 between the RCDLR and the rear compartment lid lock release solenoid (vehicles equipped with keyless entry).
  2. Repair the poor connection or the open in CKT 56 between the rear compartment lid release switch and the rear compartment lid lock release solenoid (vehicles not equipped with keyless entry).

Replace the rear compartment lid lock release actuator. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Lock Actuator Replacement for service procedure.
