Removal Procedure

  1. Open the rear compartment.
  2. Remove the rear compartment lock actuator. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Lock Actuator Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 318879  Size: SH
  4. Use a grease pencil in order to make alignment marks to the rear compartment lid for location at installation.
  5. Remove the rear compartment latch bolts.
  6. Disconnect the lid ajar electric connector.
  7. Remove the lid latch.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the lid ajar electric connector.

  2. Object Number: 318879  Size: SH
  3. Align rear compartment latch to marks on rear compartment lid.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the rear compartment latch bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the rear compartment latch bolts to 10  N·m (89 lb in)

  7. Install the rear compartment latch actuator. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Lock Actuator Replacement .
  8. Close the rear compartment.
