Removal Prodcedure
  1. Remove the air cleaner and the duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Element in Engine Controls.

    2. Object Number: 99212 Size: SH
  2. Disconnect the cable from the shift level.
  3. Disconnect the cable from the bracket.
  4. Remove the steering column opening filler and the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster in SIR System.
  5. Disconnect the cable from the column control lever. Refer to Shift Indicator Adjustment in Steering Column.
  6. Disconnect the cable from the steering column bracket. Refer to Shift Indicator Adjustment in Steering column.
  7. Disconnect the cable through hole in the cowl.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 99212 Size: SH
  1. Properly route the shift control cable through the cowl and in the engine compartment.
  2. Connect the cable to the steering column bracket. Refer to Shift Indicator Adjustment in Steering Column.
  3. Connect the cable to the column control lever. Refer to Shift Indicator Adjustment in Steering Column.
  4. Install the steering column opening filler and knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster in SIR System.
  5. Connect the cable to the bracket.
  6. Connect the cable to the shift lever.
  7. Adjust cable if necessary. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Adjustment .
  8. Install the air cleaner and the duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Element in Engine Controls.
