Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .

    2. Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  3. Remove the front seat-back. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
  4. Remove the front seat cover and pad. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement .
  5. Remove the front head restraints. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Cover Replacement .
  6. Remove the front head restraints guides. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Guide Replacement .

    7. Object Number: 1943568 Size: SH
  7. Remove the retainer (2) two places, attaching the lumbar support assembly (1) to the seat-back frame.

    8. Object Number: 1943569 Size: SH
  8. Depress the retaining tab (2) and from the inner side of the seat-back frame, rotate the lumbar support shaft (1) and withdraw from the seat-back frame.
  9. Repeat this procedure for the opposite side.

    10. Notice: Refer to General Repair Instructions in the Preface section.

  10. Disconnect the spring (1), two places, attaching the lumbar support assembly (2) to the head restraint frame.

  11. Remove the lumbar support assembly (1).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1943573 Size: SH
  1. Install the lumbar support assembly (1) to the seat-back frame.

    2. Object Number: 1943574 Size: SH
  2. Connect the spring (1) two places, attaching the lumbar support assembly (2) to the head restraint frame.

    3. Object Number: 1943596 Size: SH
  3. Insert the lumbar support shaft (1) to the seat-back frame and rotate anti-clockwise until it locks in front of the retaining tab (2).

    4. Object Number: 1943568 Size: SH
  4. Install the lumbar support assembly (1) to seat-back frame retainers (2).
  5. Install the front seat cover and pad. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement .
  6. Install the front head restraints guides. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Guide Replacement .
  7. Install the front head restraints. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement .
  8. Remove the front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .

    9. Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

  9. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  10. Connect the battery ground cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  11. Test the seat for correct mechanical and electrical operation.
