Rear Seat Belt Replacement LHD

1. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement.
2. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement.
3. Remove the upper rear quarter trim panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement.



4. Remove the bolt (1) attaching the seat belt lower anchor (2) to the vehicle



5. Remove the rear seat belt guide bolt assembly (1).



6. Remove the rear seat belt retractor bolt (2).
7. Lift the retractor (1) in a upwards direction and tilt on a 30 degree angle making sure that the locking tab is clear

1. Replace the rear seat belt retractor assembly (1) and rear seat belt retractor bolt (2) .

Tighten
Tighten the intermediate bolt  (2) to 43 N·m (31 lb ft).




2. Replace the rear seat belt guide bolt assembly (1).

Tighten
Tighten the rear seat belt guide mounting bolt  (4) to 43 N·m (32 lb ft).

3. Replace the upper rear quarter trim panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement.



4. Replace the bolt (1) attaching the seat belt lower anchor (2) to the vehicle

Important: Make Sure the seat belt lower anchor is parallel to vehicle centreline as shown.

Tighten
Tighten the seat belt lower anchor mounting bolt  (1) to 43 N·m (31 lb ft).

5. Replace the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement.
6. Replace the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement.

Rear Seat Belt Replacement RHD

1. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement.
2. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement.
3. Remove the upper rear quarter trim panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement.



4. Remove the bolt (1) attaching the seat belt lower anchor (2) to the vehicle



5. Remove the rear seat belt guide bolt assembly (1).



6. Remove the rear seat belt retractor bolt (2).
7. Lift the retractor (1) in a upwards direction and tilt on a 30 degree angle making sure that the locking tab is clear.

1. Replace the rear seat belt retractor assembly (1).
2. Remove the rear seat belt retractor bolt (2) .

Tighten
Tighten the intermediate rear seat belt retractor mounting bolt  (2) to 43 N·m (31 lb ft).




3. Replace the rear seat belt guide bolt assembly (1).

Tighten
Tighten the rear seat belt guide mounting bolt  (4) to 43 N·m (32 lb ft).




4. Replace the bolt (1) attaching the seat belt lower anchor (2) to the vehicle

Important: Make Sure the seat belt lower anchor is parallel to vehicle centreline as shown.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt  (1) to 43 N·m (31 lb ft).

5. Replace the upper rear quarter trim panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement.
6. Replace the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement.
7. Replace the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement.

Rear Seat Belt Replacement Sportwagon

1. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement.
2. Remove the rear seat back bolster. Refer to Rear Split Folding Seat Back Bolster Replacement.
3. Remove the body lock pillar lower trim. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Trim Panel Replacement.



4. Remove the rear seat belt lower anchor bolt (2) from the vehicle body (3).
5. Remove the rear seat belt lower anchor (1) to the vehicle body (3).
6. Fold the seat back into the lowered position.
7. Remove the quarter inner trim finish panel. Refer to Quarter Inner Trim Finish Panel Replacement.
8. Remove the body lock pillar trim. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Trim Panel Replacement.
9. Thread the rear seat belt lower anchor through the body lock pillar trim.



10. Remove the rear seat belt retractor noise block (1) from the rear seat belt retractor (2).
11. Thread the rear seat belt lower anchor through the retractor noise block (1).
12. Remove the rear seat belt retractor bolt (3).
13. Remove the rear seat belt retractor (2) from the rear seat belt retractor mounting bracket (4).

Important: Make sure that the rear seat belt retractor bolt (3) is aligned and threads easily into the rear seat belt retractor mounting bracket captive nut before tightening with a hand tool.

Important: Make sure that the rear seat belt retractor dowel (7) locates into the rear seat belt retractor mounting bracket datum hole (6).

1. Install the rear seat belt retractor assembly (2) to the rear seat belt retractor mounting bracket (4).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

2. Install the rear seat belt retractor bolt (3).

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 43 N·m (32 lb ft).

3. Thread the rear seat belt lower anchor through the retractor noise block (1).
4. Install the rear seat belt retractor noise block (1) to the rear seat belt retractor (2).
5. Thread the rear seat belt lower anchor through the body lock pillar trim.
6. Install the body lock pillar trim. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Trim Panel Replacement.
7. Install the quarter inner trim finish panel. Refer to Quarter Inner Trim Finish Panel Replacement.
8. Fold the seat back into the upright position.

9. Install the rear seat belt lower anchor (1) to the vehicle body (3).
10. Install the rear seat belt lower anchor bolt (2) to the vehicle body (3).

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 43 N·m (32 lb ft).

11. Install the body lock pillar lower trim. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement.
12. Install the seat back bolster. Refer to Rear Split Folding Seat Back Bolster Replacement.
13. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement.
14. Check rear seat belt operation.
