Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 61935  Size: SH
  1. Relieve fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  2. Drain fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining .
  3. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement Removal Procedure.
  4. Remove the fuel sender assembly. Refer to Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement .
  5. Note strainer position for future reference.
  6. Support the reservoir with one hand and grasp the strainer with the other hand.
  7. Using a screwdriver to pry the strainer ferrule off the reservoir.
  8. Discard the strainer.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 61935  Size: SH
  1. Install the new strainer to reservoir.
  2. Support the reservoir with one hand and grasp the strainer with the other hand twisting the strainer into position.
  3. Install the fuel sender assembly. Refer to Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement .
  4. Reinstall the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement Removal Procedure.
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Refill tank and reinstall the fuel filler cap.
  7. Reconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Replacement in engine electrical.
  8. Check for fuel leaks.
  9. 8.1. Turn the ignition switch ON for 2 seconds.
    8.2. Turn the ignition switch OFF for 10 seconds.
    8.3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    8.4. Check for fuel leaks.
