Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2006 🢒 Malibu 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Exhaust 🢒 Exhaust Tail Pipe Extension Replacement

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1238995 Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the old muffler assembly. Refer to Muffler Replacement .

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1653042 Size: SH
  1. Install the NEW muffler assembly. Refer to Muffler Replacement .
  2. If vehicle is a Malibu sedan, perform the following steps, measure back 87 mm (3.43 in) (a) from the longest point of the tail pipe and cut the tail pipe off at that mark.
  3. From the freshly cut end of the tail pipe measure back to a depth of 27 mm (1.06 in) (b) and make a mark.
  4. Install the tail pipe extension to the 27 mm (1.06 in) (b) mark and weld the tail pipe extension to the tail pipe at that mark.

  5. If vehicle is a Malibu MAXX, perform the following steps, measure back 87 mm (3.43 in) (a) from the longest point of the tail pipe and cut the tail pipe off at that mark
  6. From the freshly cut end of the tail pipe measure back to a depth of 27 mm (1.06 in) (b) and make a mark.
  7. Install the tail pipe extension to the 27 mm (1.06 in) (b) mark and weld the tail pipe extension to the tail pipe at that mark.
