Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1523827 Size: SH
  1. Remove the rear wiper arm. Refer to Rear Window Wiper Arm Replacement .
  2. Remove the wiper shaft cap (1) from the wiper shaft.
  3. Remove the wiper shaft nut (2).
  4. Remove the wiper shaft spacer (3) and seal (4).
  5. Raise the liftgate.

  6. Remove the rear wiper motor trim cover (4) by pulling downward to release the retainers.
  7. Disconnect the rear wiper motor electrical connector.
  8. Disconnect the the rear washer hose from the wiper motor.
  9. Remove the wiper motor bolts (1) and washers (2).
  10. Remove the wiper motor (3) from the liftgate.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1523829 Size: SH
  1. Position the rear wiper motor (3) to the liftgate.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the wiper motor washers (2) and bolts (1).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  3. Connect the wiper motor electrical connector.
  4. Connect the washer hose to the wiper motor.
  5. Install the wiper motor cover (4) to the motor.
  6. Lower the liftgate.

  7. Install the wiper shaft seal (4) and spacer (3).
  8. Install the wiper motor shaft nut (2).

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  9. Install the wiper motor shaft cap (1).
  10. Install the rear wiper arm. Refer to Rear Window Wiper Arm Replacement .
