The DVD player monitors the video signal circuit from the DVD player to the video display screen. The DVD player outputs a video signal on this circuit when a video disc is playing in the DVD player. If the DVD has an internal video output failure or if the circuit becomes shorted to B+ or ground , DTC B1280 will set.
• | The radio is in the ACCESSORY, RUN, or RAP power mode. |
• | The system voltage is at least 9 volts and no more than 16 volts. |
• | A DVD disc playing in the DVD player. |
• | All the above conditions are present for greater than 50 ms. |
Any of the following conditions are present for 2 seconds or longer:
• | The DVD detects a short to ground in the video signal circuit. |
• | The DVD detects a loss of video signal output. |
The DVD shuts down the video signal output.
• | A current DTC clears when the malfunction is no longer present. |
• | A history DTC clears when the module ignition cycle counter reaches the reset threshold, without a repeat of the malfunction. |
• | The DVD player receives a clear code command from the scan tool. |
This DTC will not set in the DVD player if the auxiliary inputs are selected as the source for the video screen and there is a video display problem. Go to Video Display is Poor or Blank .
