Removal Procedure
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the exhaust pipe. Refer to Exhaust Pipe Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
  3. Disconnect the brake lines from the rear suspension support. Refer to Rear Brake Hose Replacement in Hydraulic Brakes.
  4. Disconnect the parking brake cables from the suspension support. Refer to Park Brake Cable Replacement in Parking Brakes.
  5. Disconnect the stabilizer shaft from the rear stabilizer shaft links. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .

    6. Important: Support the rear suspension support with jack stands before removing the mounting bolts.

  6. Disconnect the stabilizer shaft from the rear suspension support. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement .

    7. Object Number: 156917 Size: SH
  7. Remove the rear suspension support mounting bolts.
  8. Disconnect the rear wheel spindle rods from the knuckle.
  9. Lower the rear suspension support in order to gain access to the rear wheel spindle rod bolts.
  10. Disconnect the rear wheel spindle rods from the rear suspension support.
  11. Remove the rear suspension support.

Installation Procedure
  1. Position the rear suspension support in place.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the rear wheel spindle rod-to-rear suspension support bolts and nuts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the rear wheel spindle rod-to-rear suspension support nuts to 140 N·m (103 lb ft).

  3. Install 2 locating pins in the suspension support alignment holes, one on each side of the suspension support.
  4. Install the rear suspension support mounting bolts.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the rear suspension support mounting bolts to 105 N·m (77 lb ft).

  5. Remove the locating pins from the suspension support alignment holes.
  6. Position the rear wheel spindle rod to the knuckle. Install the retaining bolts and nuts to the knuckle.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the spindle rod-to-knuckle retaining nut to 150 N·m (110 lb ft).

  7. Connect the brake lines to the rear suspension support. Refer to Rear Brake Hose Replacement in Hydraulic Brakes.
  8. Install the parking brake cables and the tensioner. Refer to Park Brake Cable Replacement or Park Brake Cable Replacement in Parking Brakes.

    9. Object Number: 156917 Size: SH
  9. Install the stabilizer shaft bracket and bolts to the rear suspension support. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement

    10. Important: Insert the bracket bolts facing rearward. Do not tighten the bolts at this time.

  10. Install the stabilizer shaft-to-stabilizer shaft link nuts. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement

    11. Tighten
    Tighten the shaft link nuts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  11. Connect the stabilizer shaft to the rear suspension support.
  12. Install the stabilizer shaft insulator bracket bolt. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement

    13. Tighten
    Tighten the stabilizer shaft insulator bracket bolts to 48 N·m (35 lb ft).

  13. Lower the vehicle.
  14. Adjust the rear wheel alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Specifications in Wheel Alignment.
