Removal Procedure
Important: The rear seat retractors are a DUAL-MODE type retractor with emergency
locking features and automatic locking features. Use the automatic locking
feature when using a child seat.
- Remove the rear seat cushion and the seatback.
- Remove the rear quarter lower trim panel.
- Remove the rear window trim panel. Refer to
Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior
Trim.
- Remove the seat belt retractor
bolt (2).
- Unhook the seat belt retractor
(1) from the vehicle.
- Remove the lower seat
belt anchor plate bolt (2).
- Remove the seat retractor side belt (3) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the seat retractor
side belt (3) to the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the lower
seat belt anchor bolt (2).
Tighten
Tighten the lower seat belt anchor plate bolt to 42 N·m
(31 lb ft).
- Hook the seat belt retractor
(1) to the vehicle.
- Install the seat belt
retractor bolt (2).
Tighten
Tighten the seat belt retractor bolt to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).
- Install the rear window trim panel. Refer to
Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior
Trim.
- Install the rear quarter lower trim panel.
- Install the rear seat cushion and seatback.
