Inspect Fuse 20.

Is Fuse 20 open?

  1. Using a test lamp, backprobe between the connector C201 terminal A14 and ground.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the steering column connector C201.
  2. Connect a DMM from the steering column harness connector C201 terminal A14 to terminal A16.
  3. Press each of the left steering wheel control buttons one at a time.
  4. Compare the resistance values to the specified values.

Are all of the resistance values approximately equal to the specified values?

Volume up: 1,270ohms

Volume down: 1,564ohms

Play: 1,912ohms

Mute: 2,387ohms

Go to Step 8

  1. Disconnect the left radio control switch.
  2. Connect a DMM between the right radio control switch harness connector terminal A and terminal C.
  3. Press each of the steering wheel control buttons one at a time.
  4. Compare the resistance values to the specified values.

Are all of the resistance values approximately equal to the specified values?

Volume up: 1,270ohms

Volume down: 1,564ohms

Play: 1,912ohms

Mute: 2,387ohms

  1. Using a test lamp, backprobe between the radio harness connector C2 terminal 14 and ground.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Does the test lamp light?

Using a test lamp, backprobe between B+ and the radio harness connector C2 terminal 14.

Does the test lamp light?

Check for a poor connection or open in CKT 1011.

Is there a poor connection or open in circuit 1011?

  1. Disconnect the steering column connector C201.
  2. Connect a DMM from the steering column harness connector C201 terminal A14 to terminal A16.
  3. Press each of the left steering wheel control buttons one at a time.
  4. Compare the resistance values to the specified values.

Are all of the resistance values approximately equal to the specified values?

Seek up: 3 102ohms

Seek down: 4,282ohms

AM/FM: 6,652ohms

Preset: 13,632ohms

  1. Disconnect the left radio control switch.
  2. Connect a DMM between terminal A and terminal C of the radio control switch harness connector.
  3. Press each of the steering wheel control buttons one at a time.
  4. Compare the resistance values to the specified values.

Are all of the resistance values approximately equal to the specified values?

Seek up: 3,102ohms

Seek down: 4,282ohms

AM/FM: 6,652ohms

Preset: 13,632ohms
