Door Removal - Front Impala

1. Open and support the front door.
2. Remove the front door rubber conduit. Refer to Front Side Door Conduit Replacement .
3. Remove the bolt from the upper hinge keeper strap.

Important: Do not disloge the washer on the lower hinge.

4. Remove the bolts from the lower door hinges side
5. Remove the front door from the upper hinge, by lifting off with an assistant.

1. Install the front door with an assistant.

Lower the front door on to the upper door hinge body side strap.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the lower door hinge side bolts with an assistant.

Tighten
Tighten the lower door hinge side bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).

3. Install the upper door hinge keeper strap bolts with an assistant.

Tighten
Tighten the upper door hinge keeper strap bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).

4. Remove the support from the front door.
5. Install the front door rubber conduit. Refer to Front Side Door Conduit Replacement .
6. Inspect the front door for proper operation and alignment. Refer to Door Adjustment .

Door Removal - Front Monte Carlo

1. Open and support the front door.
2. Remove the front door rubber conduit. Refer to Front Side Door Conduit Replacement .
3. Remove the intermediate door hinge bolts with the help of an assistant.
4. Remove the front door with the help of an assistant.

1. Install the front door with the help of an assistant.

Tighten the intermediate door hinge bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).

3. Remove the support from the front door.
4. Install the front door rubber conduit. Refer to Front Side Door Conduit Replacement .
5. Inspect the front door for proper operation and alignment. Refer to Door Adjustment .
