Front Side Door Replacement Impala

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  3. Remove the front door outside rearview mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement .
  4. Remove the front door outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  5. Remove the front door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement .
  6. Remove the front door frame applique. Refer to Front Door Frame Applique Replacement .
  7. Remove the front door window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .
  8. Remove the front door outside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Outside Handle Replacement .
  9. Remove the front door inside handle. Refer to Front Side Door Inside Handle Replacement .
  10. Remove the front door lock. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement .
  11. Remove the door window channel. Refer to Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement .
  12. Remove the front door rubber conduit. Refer to Front Side Door Conduit Replacement .
  13. Remove the front door wiring harness. Refer to Door Wiring Harness Replacement .
  14. Remove the front door body side moldings. Refer to Body Side Molding Replacement in Exterior Trim.
  15. Support the front door.
  16. Remove the front door side hinges. Refer to Door Hinge Replacement .
  17. Remove the front door from the vehicle with an assistant.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the front door with an assistant.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the front door side hinge. Refer to Door Hinge Replacement .
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the front door hinge bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).

  5. Install the front door wiring harness. Refer to Door Wiring Harness Replacement .
  6. Install the front door rubber conduit. Refer to Front Side Door Conduit Replacement .
  7. Install the front door body side moldings. Refer to Body Side Molding Replacement in Exterior Trim.
  8. Install the front door window channel. Refer to Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement .
  9. Install the front door lock. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement .
  10. Install the front door inside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Inside Handle Replacement .
  11. Install the front door outside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Outside Handle Replacement .
  12. Install the front door window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .
  13. Install the front door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement .
  14. Install the front door outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  15. Install the front door outside rear view mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement .
  16. Install the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  17. Install the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  18. Inspect the front door for proper operation and alignment. Refer to Door Adjustment .

Front Side Door Replacement Monte Carlo

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  3. Remove the front door inner energy absorber. Refer to Front Door Energy Absorber Pad Replacement .
  4. Remove the front door outside rearview mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement .
  5. Remove the front door outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  6. Remove the front door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement .
  7. Remove the front door frame applique. Refer to Front Door Frame Applique Replacement .
  8. Remove the front door window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .
  9. Remove the front door outer energy absorber. Refer to Front Door Energy Absorber Pad Replacement .
  10. Remove the front door outside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Outside Handle Replacement .
  11. Remove the front door inside handle. Refer to Front Side Door Inside Handle Replacement .
  12. Remove the front door lock. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement .
  13. Remove the front door window channel. Refer to Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement .

  16. Install the front door outside rear view mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement .
