Rear Side Door Window Replacement Impala

Removal Procedure

  1. Position the rear door window in the full down position.
  2. Remove the rear door inner trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  4. Remove the rear door outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  5. Remove the rear door window weatherstrip. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement .

  6. Object Number: 459276  Size: SH
  7. Remove the 2 rear door window to the regulator bolts.
  8. Set the rear door window in the bottom of the door.

  9. Object Number: 459282  Size: SH
  10. Remove the rear door window.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the rear door window in the bottom of the door.
  2. Important: 

       • Install the forward front door window regulator bolt first.
       • Ensure that both sealing lips on the outer belt sealing strip are not rolled over and pointing downwards. If this condition is present the rear door window will not raise properly.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Slide the window up and install the two bolts which hold the rear door window to the window regulator.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear door window to regulator bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the rear door window weatherstrip. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement .
  6. Install the rear door outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  7. Install the rear door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  8. Install the rear door inner trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
