Rear Door Frame Applique Replacement Impala Front

Removal Procedure

Important: Protect applique with heavy material tape to avoid damaging the underlying paint finish or applique. Do not use a pointed or sharp instruments for removal of the door applique.


    Object Number: 631152  Size: SH
  1. Position the rear door window in the down position.
  2. Remove the rear door window channel part way from the applique. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement .
  3. Remove the rear door outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  4. Remove the rear door window channel retainer. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Channel Retainer Replacement .
  5. Drill out the rivets from the rear door frame applique.
  6. Remove the rear door frame applique from the rear door.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 631152  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear door frame applique to the rear door.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install new rivets to the rear door frame applique.
  4. Install the rear door window channel retainer. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Channel Retainer Replacement .
  5. Install the rear door window outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  6. Install the rear door window channel. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement .
  7. Position the rear door window in the up position.

  6. Drill out the rivets from the rear door frame applique.

  7. Object Number: 498542  Size: SH
  8. Remove the rear door frame applique from the rear door.

  1. Install the rear door frame applique to the rear door.

  7. Install the rear door window channel. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement .
  8. Position the rear door window in the up position.
