Front Seat Back Replacement Bucket Seat
Removal Procedure
- Remove the front seat
from the vehicle. Refer to
Front Seat Replacement - Bucket
.
- Remove the front seat outer trim panel. Refer to
Front Seat Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Disconnect the J-hook retainers at each end of the front seat
cushion and pull the front seat cushion cover open to expose the seat frame
hinge.
- Disconnect the J-hook
retainers at the rear of the front seat cushion and pull open the front seat
cushion cover to expose the seat frame hinge.
- Remove the front seat
back recliner roll pins from the seat back hinge.
- Remove the front seat
back bolts from the seat back hinge.
- Lift up the front seat
back and set it down on the front seat cushion.
Important: Before removing cables and wire harness, make note of their position.
- Pull out the lumbar cable, heated seat cable and the side air bag wire
harness from the front seat cushion frame area.
- Remove the front seat back.
Installation Procedure
- Position the front seat
back on the front seat cushion.
- Route the lumbar cable,
heated seat cable and the side air bag wire harness to the front seat cushion/frame
area.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the front seat back bolts (1) to the seat back hinge.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install new front seat
back recliner roll pins to the seat back hinge.
- Connect the J-hook retainers
at the rear of the front seat cushion.
- Connect the J-hook retainers
at each end of the front seat cushion.
- Install the front seat outer trim panel. Refer to
Front Seat Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Inspect the front seat back for proper operation.
- Install the front seat from the vehicle. Refer to
Front Seat Replacement - Bucket
.
Front Seat Back Replacement Split Bench
Removal Procedure
- Remove the front seat
from the vehicle. Refer to
Split Bench Seat Replacement

- Remove the front seat outer trim panel. Refer to
Front Seat Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the front seat armrest from the front seat. Refer to
Front Seat Armrest Replacement
.
- Remove the front center seat belt buckle from the front seat.
Refer to
Seat Belt Buckle Replacement - Center Front
in Seat Belts.
- Disconnect the J-hook retainers at each end of the front seat
cushion and pull the front seat cushion cover open to expose the seat frame
hinge.
- Disconnect the J-hook
retainers at the rear of the front seat cushion and pull open the front seat
cushion cover to expose the seat frame hinge.
- Remove the front seat
back recliner roll pins from the seat back hinge.
- Remove the front seat
back bolts from the seat back hinge.
- Lift up the front seat
back and set it down on the front seat cushion.

- Disconnect the electrical connector for the heated seat, if equipped.
- Remove the front seat back.

- Inspect the front seat back for proper operation.
- Install the front seat into the vehicle. Refer to
