Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear door handle
trim bezel. Refer to
Door Inside Handle Bezel Replacement
.
- Remove the rear door pull cup. Refer to
Armrest Pull Cup Replacement
.
- Remove the screws from the pull cup bracket.
- Remove the rear door trim
panel using J 38778
to disengage
the fasteners from the door inner panel.
- Disconnect and reposition the electrical connectors.
- Remove the rear door trim panel from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Important: Before installing the rear door trim panel to the rear door inner panel,
the old trim panel retainers MUST be discarded and replaced with NEW trim
panel retainers.
- Install the new trim panel
retainers to the rear door trim panel.
- Connect and route the electrical connectors through the openings
in the rear door trim panel.
- Align the rear door trim panel to the rear door inner panel, guiding
the rear door handle through the trim panel.
- Install the upper edge of the rear door trim panel to the top
edge of the inner door panel, pressing down firmly until the retainer clips
are fully seated.
- Align the two locator pins on the rear door trim panel to the
front door inner panel.
- Install the rear door trim panel pressing firmly until the retainer
clips are fully seated around the perimiter of the trim panel.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the screws to the pull cup bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to the pull cup bracket to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Install the rear door
handle trim bezel. Refer to
Door Inside Handle Bezel Replacement
.
- Install the rear door switch plate. Refer to
Armrest Pull Cup Replacement
.
