- Periodically inspect the following components (a good time is
during an engine oil change). Use a light and a mirror for an adequate inspection:
- Inspect the hydraulic brake pipes and hoses for the following
conditions. Replace the pipes or hoses as necessary:
• | Cracks and chafing of the brake hose outer cover |
• | Improper routing and mounting |
- Inspect for leaks at the brake pipe and brake hose connections.
If leakage is found:
• | Verify the torque of the fasteners. |
• | Replace the pipe or the hose. |
- Inspect the caliper and the wheel cylinder boots for leakage.
If leakage is found, repair or replace the assembly. Refer to the appropriate
procedures:
