- Turn ignition OFF.
- Disconnect the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil
connector C2. Refer to
Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Replacement
in SIR.
- Connect a J 39200
between terminal 3 and terminal 4 of connector C2.
- Move the cruise control switch upward toward the RES/ACC position
and hold.
Is the resistance within the specified range?
| 60-80 ohms

| With the
ignition still turned OFF and the inflatable restraint steering wheel module
coil connector C2 still disconnected.
- Connect a J 39200
between terminal 3 and terminal 4 of connector C2.
- Pull the cruise control switch and hold.
Is the resistance within the specified range?
| 410-420 ohms

- Check the cruise control switch connector for poor connection.
- If OK, replace the cruise control switch. Refer to
Cruise Control Switch Replacement

| With the ignition still turned OFF and the inflatable restraint steering
wheel module coil connector C2 still disconnected. Test for continuity
between terminal 3 of the inflatable restraint steering wheel
module coil and ground.
Is the resistance within the specified range?
| 0-2 ohms

| Repair the
poor ground connection at G203 which is located behind the right hand kick
panel. Refer to
Wiring Repairs
in Wiring Systems.

- Locate the cruise control module which is on the RH side of instrument
panel, next to the instrument panel compartment.
- Check the cruise control module connector for poor terminal contact.
- If OK, replace the cruise control module. Refer to
Cruise Control Module Replacement
