Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement .
  2. Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
  3. Remove the front fender. Refer to Front Fender Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 239365  Size: SH
  5. Mark the position of the hood hinges to ease assembly.
  6. Remove the hinge bolts from the hood.
  7. Remove the hood hinge (1).

Installation Procedure

Important: When replacing the hood hinge, apply anti-corrosion treatment to the hinge and the body mating surface, and to the hinge and the hood mating surface. Refer to Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair in Paint/Coatings.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the hood hinge (1) to the vehicle, aligning the mating marks. Secure the hinge with the 2 mounting bolts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the hinge bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  3. Install the front fender. Refer to Front Fender Replacement .
  4. Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
  5. Install the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement .
