Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the serpentine drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Remove the RH front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.

  4. Object Number: 239356  Size: SH
  5. Remove the 6 bolts and the RH lower engine splash shield (1).
  6. Remove the pulley nut and the pulley from the power steering pump.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the pulley to the power steering pump. Secure with one nut.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering pulley nut to 43 N·m (32 lb ft).

  3. Install the RH lower engine splash shield (1). Secure with 6 bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the 6 RH lower engine splash shield bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the RH front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Install the serpentine drive belt. Adjust the belt while installing. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
