Driver Information Center (DIC) Temperature Display Always Reads SC w/ Trip Computer

Was the Driver Information Center System Check performed?

  1. Disconnect the ambient air temperature sensor.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Does the driver information center (DIC) display SC?

--

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 8

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) from the DIC connector terminal 8 to ground.
  3. Disconnect the DIC.
  4. Backprobe the DIC.

Does CKT 735 show a value within the specified range?

0-3 ohms

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Repair the short to ground in CKT 735 between the DIC connector terminal 8 and the ambient air sensor terminal B.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Driver Information System Check

Inspect the DIC connector for a poor connection.

Are the connections OK?

--

Repair the DIC connections as necessary.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the DIC. Refer to Driver Information Center Replacement .

Inspect the ambient air temperature sensor connector for damage.

Is the connector damaged?
