Driver Information Center (DIC) Temperature Display Always Reads OC w/ Trip Computer

Was the Driver Information Center System Check performed?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the ambient air sensor temperature connector.
  3. Connect a fused jumper to the ambient air temperature sensor connector terminal A to terminal B.

Does the display show SC?

--

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

Replace the ambient air temperature sensor. Refer to Ambient Air Temperature Gage Sensor Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Driver Information System Check

--

  1. Disconnect the driver information center (DIC) connector.
  2. Using the J 35616 , frontprobe the ambient air temperature sensor cavity B with the test lamp connected to the battery positive terminal.
  3. Using the J 35616 , connect cavity 10 of the DIC connector to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Repair the open or high resistance in CKT 735 between the ambient air temperature sensor connector terminal B and the DIC connector terminal 10.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Driver Information System Check

  1. Disconnect the DIC connector.
  2. Using the J 35616 , frontprobe the ambient air temperature sensor cavity A with the test lamp connected to the battery positive terminal.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 7

Repair the open or excessive resistance in CKT 451 between the ambient air temperature sensor connector terminal A and G105.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Driver Information System Check

--

Replace the DIC. Refer to Driver Information Center Replacement .

Replace the ambient air temperature sensor. Refer to Ambient Air Temperature Gage Sensor Replacement .

  1. Disconnect the driver information center (DIC) connector.
  2. Using the J 35616 , frontprobe the ambient air temperature sensor cavity B with the test lamp connected to the battery positive terminal.
  3. Using the J 35616 , connect cavity 8 of the DIC connector to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 6

Repair the open or high resistance in CKT 735 between the ambient air temperature sensor connector terminal B and the DIC connector terminal 8.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the DIC connector.
  2. Using the J 35616 , frontprobe the ambient air temperature sensor cavity A with the test lamp connected to the battery positive terminal.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 8

Repair the open or excessive resistance in CKT 451 between the ambient air temperature sensor connector terminal A and G105.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Driver Information System Check

Replace the DIC. Refer to Driver Information Center Replacement .
