    • J 21784 Side Bearing Installer
    • J 22888-D Side Bearing Remover Kit
    • J 22912-B Split-Plate Bearing Puller
    • J 8092 Universal Driver Handle- ¾ in - 10

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the differential assembly. Refer to Differential Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 1265307  Size: SH
  3. Remove the bell side differential side bearing by performing the following steps:
  4. 2.1. Install the differential assembly in a vise.
    2.2. Install the J 22888-20A  (1) and the J 8107-4  (2) as shown.
    2.3. Remove the differential side bearing using the J 22888-20A .
  5. Remove the differential assembly from the vise.

  7. Remove the ring gear side differential side bearing by performing the following steps:
  8. 4.1. Install the differential assembly in a vise.
    4.2. Install the J 22888-20A  (1) and the J 8107-4  (2) as shown.
    4.3. Remove the differential side bearing using the J 22888-20A .
  9. Remove the differential assembly from the vise.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1265153  Size: SH
  1. Install the ring gear side differential side bearing by doing the following:
  2. 1.1. In order to protect the differential case, install the J 8107-4 in the case on the side opposite the bearing installation.
    1.2. Install the differential side bearing onto the differential case.
    1.3. Install the J 21784  (2) and the J 8092  (1) over the differential side bearing as shown.
    1.4. Drive the bearing onto the differential case using the J 21784 and the J 8092 .

  3. Install the bell side differential side bearing by doing the following:
  4. 2.1. In order to protect the differential case, install the J 8107-4 in the case on the side opposite the bearing installation.
    2.2. Install the differential side bearing onto the differential case.
    2.3. Install the J 21784  (2) and the J 8092  (1) over the differential case bearing as shown.
    2.4. Drive the bearing onto the differential case using the J 21784 and the J 8092 .
  5. Install the differential assembly. Refer to Differential Replacement .
