1. Sliding Rear Window Switch Malfunction 2. Sliding Rear Window Motor Malfunction |
The power sliding rear window motor is controlled from the sliding rear window switch through OPEN and CLOSE relays. The sliding rear window switch is supplied voltage from the body control module (BCM) accessory voltage output circuit. When the switch is pressed in the OPEN or CLOSE position, the sliding rear window open relay or the sliding rear window close relay coil will be supplied accessory voltage and energized through the appropriate relay control circuit. While the sliding rear window open relay or the sliding rear window close relay are in a de-energized state both motor control circuits will be closed to ground. When one of the relays is energized its motor control circuit will be closed to the battery voltage supply circuit and the other motor control circuit will remain grounded through the de-energized relay.

Ignition ON, command the sliding rear window to OPEN/CLOSE by pressing the front and rear side of the sliding rear window switch. The sliding rear window should OPEN and CLOSE as commanded.
⇒ | If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the accessory voltage circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal replace the BCM. |
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If the test lamp illuminates, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. |
⇒ | If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the sliding rear window switch. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the sliding rear window switch. |
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, test the control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the sliding rear window close relay. |
