Heater Inlet Hose Replacement with C60
Tools Required
J 38185 Hose Clamp
Pliers
Removal Procedure
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
in Engine Cooling.
- Remove the left wiper arm linkage nuts.
Reposition
the left wiper arm linkage for access.
- Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster and reposition.
- Remove the air cleaner cover and intake tube. Refer to
Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement
in Engine
Controls -3.4L.
Important: Disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables to prevent bending
the cable housings.
- Disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables from the TBI mounting
bracket.
- Remove the transmission fluid filler tube. Refer to
Transmission Fluid Filler Tube and Seal Replacement
in Automatic
Transaxle - 4T65-E.
- Release the quick connect.
Disconnect the inlet heater hose (1) from the inlet
pipe (2).
- Disconnect the heater
hose clamp using the J 38185
.
- Disconnect the inlet heater hose from the heater core.
- Remove the inlet heater hose.
Installation Procedure
- Install the inlet heater hose.
- Connect the inlet heater
hose to the heater core.
- Position the heater hose clamp using the J 38185
.
- Connect the inlet heater
hose (1) to the inlet pipe (2).
- Install the transmission fluid filler tube. Refer to
Transmission Fluid Filler Tube and Seal Replacement
in Automatic
Transaxle - 4T65-E.
- Connect the throttle and cruise control cables to the TBI mounting
bracket.
- Install the air cleaner cover and intake tube. Refer to
Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement
in Engine
Controls -3.4L.
- Connect the vacuum hose to the brake booster .
- Install the left wiper arm linkage.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the left wiper arm linkage nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
in Engine Cooling.
Heater Inlet Hose Replacement with C69

Removal Procedure
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
in Engine Cooling.
- Remove the left wiper arm linkage nuts.
Reposition
the left wiper arm linkage for access.
- Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster and reposition.
- Remove the air cleaner cover and intake tube. Refer to
Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement
in Engine
Controls - 3.4L.
Important: Disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables to prevent bending
the cable housings.
- Disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables from the TBI mounting
bracket.
- Remove the transmission fluid filler tube. Refer to
Transmission Fluid Filler Tube and Seal Replacement
in Automatic
Transaxle - 4T65-E.
- Release the inlet heater
hose quick connect from the inlet pipe (2).
- Disconnect the inlet heater hose (1) from the inlet pipe (2).
- Reposition the inlet heater
hose clamp at the heater core using the J 38185
.
- Disconnect the inlet heater hose from the heater core.
- Reposition the inlet heater hose clamp from the auxiliary heater
inlet line using the J 38185
.
- Disconnect the inlet heater hose from the auxiliary heater inlet
line.
- Remove the inlet heater hose.
Installation Procedure
- Install the inlet heater
hose.
- Connect the inlet heater hose to the auxiliary heater inlet line.
- Reposition the inlet heater hose clamp at the auxiliary heater
inlet line using the J 38185
.
- Connect the inlet heater hose to the heater core.
- Reposition the inlet heater hose clamp at the heater core using
the J 38185
.
- Connect the inlet heater
hose (1) to the inlet pipe (2).
- Install the transmission fluid filler tube. Refer to
Transmission Fluid Filler Tube and Seal Replacement
in Automatic
Transaxle - 4T65-E.
- Connect the throttle and cruise control cables to the TBI mounting
bracket.
- Install the air cleaner cover and intake tube. Refer to
Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement
in Engine
Controls - 3.4L.
- Connect the vacuum hose to the brake booster .
- Install the left wiper arm linkage.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the left wiper arm linkage nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
in Engine Cooling.
