    • DW330-010-01 Rear Coil Spring Compressor (LH) or Equivalent
    • DW330-010-01 Rear Coil Spring Compressor (RH) or Equivalent

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1265580  Size: SH
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle . Use a frame contact hoist if possible and support the rear control arms with jack stands. If it becomes necessary to lift the vehicle with a twin-post hoist, lift the body and support the control arms with jack stands.
  2. Remove the rear shock absorber. Refer to Shock Absorber Replacement .
  3. Remove the hollow bumper bolt.

  4. Object Number: 1265581  Size: SH

    Important: Record the position of the coil spring locator relative to the coil spring-to-rear coil spring compressor DW330-010-01 and DW330-010-01 , for ease of installation of the coil spring.

  5. Compress the coil spring with the DW330-010-01 and DW330-010-01 .
  6. Remove the coil spring.
  7. Record the position of the coil spring locator.
  8. Important: For ease of removal of the rear shock absorber, remove the rear muffler.

  9. Remove the hollow bumper, the upper spring insulator, and the lower spring insulator.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the bumper, upper spring insulator, and lower spring insulator.
  2. Install the upper and lower insulator to the body with adhesive to keep them in position while raising the axle assembly and spring.
  3. Install the coil spring.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the hollow bumper bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).
