Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1279977 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  3. Remove the 2 nuts (2) on the evaporator flange.

    4. Object Number: 1279979 Size: SH
  4. Remove the 2 stud bolts and the expansion valve.
  5. Remove the O-rings and discard them.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1279979 Size: SH
  1. Install new O-rings to the A/C pipes at the evaporator flange.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install 2 stud bolts and the expansion valve.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the stud bolts to 14 N·m (10 lb ft).

  3. Install the 2 nuts (2) to the evaporator flange.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the flange nuts to 14 N·m (10 lb ft).

  4. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
