Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the engine cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  3. Remove the main cooling fan. Refer to Engine Cooling Fan Replacement .
  4. Remove the auxiliary cooling fan. Refer to Auxiliary Engine Coolant Fan and Fan Motor Replacement .
  5. Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the radiator.
  6. Remove the transmission cooler pipe union bolts and pipe bracket bolt at the lower radiator tank, if equipped.

  8. Remove the left/right upper radiator retaining bolt.
  9. Remove the left/right upper radiator retaining bracket.
  10. Remove the radiator from the vehicle.

Important: The radiator still contains a substantial amount of coolant. Drain the remainder of the coolant from the radiator into a drain pan.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1263065  Size: SH
  1. Install the radiator to the vehicle.
  2. Install the left/right upper radiator retaining bracket.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the left/right upper radiator retaining bolt.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the upper radiator retaining bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  6. Install the transmission cooler pipe union bolts and pipe bracket bolt at the lower radiator tank, if equipped.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the union bolt and bracket bolt to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).

  8. Connect the lower radiator hose from the radiator.
  9. Install the auxiliary cooling fan. Refer to Auxiliary Engine Coolant Fan and Fan Motor Replacement .
  10. Install the main cooling fan. Refer to Engine Cooling Fan Replacement .
  11. Fill the engine cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  12. Connect the negative battery cable.
